October 19, 2006 "Most (professionals) want to create a PDF, email a PDF, and occasionally extract something from a PDF. If this sounds like you, Abbyy PDF Transformer Pro 2.0 is the way to go. It is really easy to use, and it is highly effective. When speed and simplicity are paramount, ABBYY Transformer Pro 2.0 is my tool of choice... it is highly intuitive. Even those with very limited computing skills can create and send a PDF file immediately using Transformer Pro 2.0."

July 25, 2005 You were able to convert my 89-page PDF file with over 300 images back to a Word document. The bold features were maintained, as well as font sizes and typography (Cyrillic, etc)and justification throughout. I believe that ALL of the images were restored, although your program set them into text boxes, while they should have been in tables. All in all, the finest program of its kind out there. It did take over one hour, but considering the difficulty, I find that acceptable for a task that would not be carried out frequently. I assume that the conversion could be done in the background while I am running other programs. Thank you again. Dr. H. S. Friedman
June 8, 2005 What tipped the scale in favour of PDF Transformer as opposed to other PDF converters was the smooth, simple interface and the OCR functionality - I know of no other PDF converter that actually converts scanned PDFs to text. There's only little niggly things that I'd change - it doesn't remember some of the settings between uses (I have to set the level of retained formatting every time because I only want the middle level) which also means I can't use it from the right-click menu. I would also like to see an option to remove images altogether, as we most often just want the text. Besides that it's a great product!
July 23, 2004 I downloaded the trial version of ABBYY, printed three complex table and forms pages to Distiller, and saved them to a pdf.
I then used ABBYY to convert the file to .doc format, opened the .doc, filled out the forms. Just like that. Total elapsed time (excluding download and installation): 15 minutes.
As our office currently spends hours each week reconstructing tables we receive as part of RFPs which come in PDF format, the expense for the program will easily be amortized -- in the first MORNING OF USE.
I've recommended purchase of the product. Thanks not only for saving us money, but for easing the verbal abuse quotient as people have to reconstruct the tables and forms.
